Author Instructions - Final Papers and Posters

Submitting Full Papers

Authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a full paper of 6 to 10 pages for inclusion in the conference proceedings.  The proceedings will be distributed electronically to all attendees of the conference.

Please follow the format of this example paper from DHM 2011.

If preparing your submission using Microsoft Word, please use this template or follow this PDF version.

All papers should be submitted in Portable Document Format (PDF).  Please verify that your submission can be read on multiple computers before submission.

You are also asked to submit the final abstract (only the abstract) of your paper to the conference management website at

Preparing Posters

Authors of abstracts accepted for poster presentation are responsible for printing their posters and bringing them to the symposium.  Easel boards will be provided for displaying posters.  Posters may be up to 48 inches (122 cm) tall by 36 inches (91 cm) wide and can be attached to the easel boards using thumbtacks.

No Copyright Transfer

Note that you will retain copyright on your paper -- no copyright transfer forms are necessary.  Consequently, you will be able to repurpose the paper, such as submitting an expanded version to a journal.

The proceedings will be available for download by the attendees one week prior to and during the symposium.  Following the symposium, we plan to post the proceedings on a public website, just as with the 2011 symposium.  You will be able to opt-out of publication on the website if you prefer.

Special Journal Issue

Authors of outstanding papers from the symposium will be invited to submit expanded manuscripts for a special issue of the Journal of Human Factors Modeling and Simulation edited by program committee members.  Further information will be available at the symposium.
